=80=99s Marketplace Seller, California has enacted a new law effective Janu=
ary 2026, requiring retailers to collect fees and manufacturers to take res=
ponsibility for products containing embedded batteries that cannot be easil=
y removed using common household tools. Examples include watches, electric =
toothbrushes, and remote-control cars.  For more details, please refer to t=

ornia Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) site. Und=
er this law, manufacturers/vendors must notify both retailers and CalRecycl=
e regarding which products fall under these requirements. If you have not a=
lready done so, please promptly inform Macy=E2=80=99s, Bloomingdale=E2=80=
=99s, and Bluemercury of any products subject to this regulation. Our team =
is currently determining the best process for tagging and tracking these pr=
oducts within our systems. Once finalized, we will share an update with spe=
cific next steps.  Immediate Action Required: =EF=BB=BF =EF=BB=BF Please su=
bmit a list of UPCs for products impacted by this law by opening a case in =
the Seller Success Center (or in the Seller Help Center). Do not include pr=

any new items identified before the new process is announced.  This informa=
tion will be used to provide UPC listings and descriptions to Sovos, who wi=
ll determine the necessary Tax Product Codes/Goods and Services Codes for b=
